JASON WONG

During my time at UCI, I have changed my career path from optometry to medicine and then to having no idea at all. If it had not been for AED, I would never have found my passion for physical therapy. The resources within AED help you discover what you truly love and there will be a time where you change your mind and realize your current career path isn’t for you. And not only does AED serve as a resource for career discovery, but it also has many opportunities for professional development. I served as an officer in AED and it helped me understand the challenges and value of being in a leadership role. I was able to improve on my ability to communicate, collaborate, and motivate, which are all important skills to have in the professional world. I always encourage new members to take on a leadership role within the organization because it helps you develop the skills necessary to become successful in your career. But most importantly, I have met some of my closest friends through AED. I have studied, travelled, and celebrated with these people and would not be where I am today without them. The network of friends and the experience you gain from AED is invaluable and I highly recommend becoming a member of this organization because it has made such a positive impact on my life.
